Quite a few villages are pretty. Most have a long history of being a community of cow barns in which they were kept for the cold winters on this plateau at over 1,000 m. This village has a few new homes to add to the cow barns (many of which are now renovated as quite stately homes) and the milk is now produced in distant places with more amenable climate.
